NURSING MANAGER
Position Summary
The Nursing Manager oversees and supervises all nursing services. In this role, you are responsible for ensuring smooth patient flow in our adult clinic. Responsibilities include the selection, scheduling, and performance monitoring of a staff of 20+ RNs, LPNs, MAs, phlebotomists, and pharmacy techs. Additionally, you will support the Nursing Director in the development of department protocols, ordering supplies and equipment, assisting with patient triage, and staff education and training.
Work Schedule/Salary/Benefits
The Health Center is open Monday through Saturday. This is a full time day shift position but evening shift (noon-8pm) and Saturday coverage is required. Qualifications
  • New York State RN lisence, current registration, and CPR certification.
  • Bachelors degree and at least three years experience supervising a nursing staff of at least 10+ required.
  • Experience working with HIV+ patients, the under-served, and/or experience in a public health setting preferred.
  • Strong computer competency required.

IT COORDINATOR for HELP DESK & SYSTEMS MAINTENANCE
Position Summary
The IT Coordinator is responsible for working independently and with our IT Consulting Group to assure the smooth day-to-day operation of information and telecommunication technology. To this end, the Coordinator shall provide a full spectrum of end user support and troubleshooting for all hardware, software, and telecommunications issues; ensure data security through back-ups and virus definition maintenance; setting up work stations, printers, and monitoring all hardware to maintain ongoing system efficacy; maintain email systems; and participate in IT improvement projects.

The Health Center is open Monday through Saturday. While this is a full time day shift position, occasional evening and/or weekend hours are required as needed. Qualifications
  • Recent grads with BS degree and extensive knowledge of Windows Server, Windows XP, and MS Exchange in an active directory environment and experience working with Symantec EndPoint antivirus software, Backup Exec, and firewall systems, as well as MS Office, are encouraged to apply.
  • Ability to be flexible and work independently and professionally in an environment with shifting priorities.
  • Ability to develop creative and resourceful solutions to technical and systems issues as they arise.

PRIMARY CARE MEDICAL PROVIDER - HIV SPECIALIST
Position Summary
Callen-Lorde is seeking an experienced, dedicated clinician (MD, DO, NP, or PA) to join our team in providing primary care and HIV services to a panel of diverse patients. Working with a close-knit group of colleagues, the provider maintains a high degree of professional competence and functions as a reliable member of a care-giving team.

The position involves a weekly evening shift and occasional Saturday hours. Qualifications
  • New York State certification/licensure and current New York State registration as MD, DO, or NP
  • Board certification in Internal Medicine or Family Practice (for MD or DO)
  • Substantial experience in HIV primary care (minimum 2 years)
  • Commitment to community-based health care services
  • Demonstrated knowledge of LGBT health-related concerns and experience in providing medical care in LGBT communities

LICENSED PRACTICAL NURSE
Position Summary
The Licensed Practical Nurse is responsible for assisting primary care providers, physicians, and mid-level providers by providing general nursing care, patient screening, and clinical support. This position reports to the Associate Director of Nursing.

The Health Center is open Monday through Saturday. Two 12pm-8pm shifts required weekly. PATIENT CARE ASSOCIATE
Position Summary
The Patient Care Associates (PCAs) are part of our dynamic medical team and work in collaboration with our nursing and provider staff to ensure optimal patient care. The PCAs are the primary customer service contact with our patients. In this role, you are responsible for maintaining an efficient flow of patients, visitors, and phone calls into the various systems of the Center, providing administrative support to the clinical staff as well as assisting with the collection of patient registration, billing and payment data. You must have a passion for helping others, be courteous, patient and professional at all times. An entry-level position for recent college grads, it is an excellent way to begin a career in a not-for-profit or health care setting.
Work Schedule/Salary/Benefits
Full time position - Minimum of 35 hours per week. Salary is paid at an hourly rate, plus excellent benefits package.
Qualifications
  • BS/BA degree in Social Service related discipline.
  • Strong computer competency (MS Office); ability to learn new software.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) strongly preferred.
  • Strong customer service orientation and excellent attention to detail.

Volunteering

Callen-Lorde welcomes volunteers to provide services to our patients and the community.

Licensed/certified volunteers, providing direct patient care services, must be credentialed by the relevant Callen-Lorde department. Callen-Lorde welcomes qualified volunteers in the following positions:

Medical Providers

MDs, NPs, PAs, DOs. Must be NYS licensed and maintain individual malpractice coverage.

Callen-Lorde volunteer medical providers provide episodic care for patients enrolled in adult primary care services. In addition, some providers choose to work within the Sexual Health Clinic, which provides a comprehensive, sex-positive approach to screening, diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of recurrence of sexually transmitted infections (STIs) involving both medical and counseling interventions. All medical provider volunteers work Wednesday evenings under the supervision of a staff physician.
