Lesbian Health Services
All women have generally been underserved by the health care establishment. This is particularly true for lesbians, bisexual women and other women who partner with women, however they may identify. Callen-Lorde knows from first-hand experience that all women, especially lesbians and bisexual women, still face many barriers to health. Our goal is to address the specific health and mental health needs of New York's lesbian and bisexual communities, and create a welcoming environment for all women to receive quality health care.
Lesbian Health Services include:
- Women's wellness screenings
- Breast health care
- Gynecological care
- Menopausal management
- Disease management
- Health promotion and prevention services
- Colposcopy, cryotherapy and Loop Electrocautery Excision Procedure (LEEP), procedures designed to diagnose and treat pre-cancerous changes of the cervix first found in an abnormal Pap smear.
These services are offered in a safe and supportive environment at any time during regular Callen-Lorde business hours.
